ARTFUL QUILT Instructor: TRAUDEL SUSKO

In this 3-day class you will create an art landscape quilt with your choice of fabrics. No rulers no measuring. This is called “ Fast – Piece Appliqué “. Fast –Piece Appliqué is a method of construction that makes easy work of sewing curves, circles and many designs that you thought were too difficult to put together. All you need to know is how to sew, I will teach you how to couch and if you do not have a   couching foot, no problem. This class will be a lot of fun and opens many opportunities with different quilting techniques for you. Book Required. Coordinate with a stripe to pull all the colors and add several other colors to make your coins. Use the chart to choose the size you wish to make and determine how much fabric you need. Do you have any Theme fabric or some other beautiful fabric laying around wondering what to do with it?  Starstruck may be the quilt for you.  Its made up of 9 "theme" centers followed by EASY stars, (made by using Thangles or Triangle Paper),  & 3 strips, plus some beautiful background material, and borders too.  Within a matter of hours, not days, you will have a quilt top done!  This is an easy quilt to do. Level: Intermediate to advanced: confident in paper piecing  In this class, we will use your knowledge of basic paper piecing techniques and add a twist to them by designing a small wall-hanging with curved flying geese. You will learn how to design, draw,  measure, and sew the pattern in class, and then we will discuss in detail many of the options available to use curved flying geese as borders or central design elements in future quilts. This class is fun! and will open up new horizons to curved paper foundation piecing.     Fee: $40.00  Date:  Aug. 21, Sat., 10:00-4:00

This is my Therapy – I LOVE it! In the first session of this class, we’ll be preparing the fabrics, marking and basting the appliqué fabric.  Learning to do needle turn appliqué has been so rewarding for me; during our second time together, we’ll be sewing our project. These wall hangings make great gifts or you may incorporate it into a larger quilt!  Pacific Rim Pattern Required (Come check out my patterns at the Shop)    Fee: $28.50  Dates: Sept. 11 & 25, Sat., 10:00-12:30

Make this Christmas Wreath and be ready ahead of time for Christmas decorating. Eleanor Burns’ way of making log cabin blocks is faster and easier than the traditional way. This class is great for all levels. Depending on your ability, you may have a little homework between classes. Class one will be devoted to making the wall hanging. Class two will cover the adornments. Pattern Required. Fee: $35.00 Dates: Sundays: September 26th 10-4:00, October 3rd 11-2:00

 

Class Registration & New Cancellation Policy

Please pay for your class when you sign-up to ensure your seat. Supply Lists will be given when you pay for class. To cancel a class, we must be given a minimum of two weeks notice before the date of class in order to refund your money; otherwise, you forfeit your registration fee.
