CHECK IT OUT! We're starting a QUILT CLUB:

If you are working on a quilt, but need a little help? Is there a project that you're stuck on?  Need to put on borders and you're not sure how to do them properly?  Want to learn a new technique for a project you're working on? Our QUILT CLUB is for you! Come & work on your project and receive help as you go. You MUST have completed Quilting 101 or equivalent to participate.  This is not intended to teach you how to quilt.  Sign up at the Shop & let us know what you'll need help on so Debbie can prepare.

When: First Friday  of the month 5:30-9:00

 

Re: Saturday Sew-In for Spiritual Care -

CMH, VTA

  We will meet on June 12 , Sat., to sew quilts for our terminally ill folks and those patients who just need some love at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura. The address is 2809 E. Main St.(park around the back), next to Mai's Cafe; Hours: 10:00-4:00 or whatever time you may give.  Just bring your sewing machine, rotary cutter, ruler and mat. We have ironing boards.

Please call the shop if you are planning to volunteer, so we may have space and a kit ready for you.

1 Million Pillowcase 2010 Challenge

American Patchwork & Quilting is challenging all  us Quilters to join our efforts to Make A Pillowcase, Make a Difference in our local community.  Quilt Ventura’s Goal is to comfort 600 children in the Ventura County Child Protective Services care. The official count across the country is currently 74,587!  Come to our free demo on June 26, Sat., 1:00-5:00, and buy a pillowcase kit discounted 50%.  You can also participate by buying two for one of our kits for your contribution. Sew ‘em up and bring ‘em back to the shop.  Let’s show the kids we care.

 

NEWS FLASH:

Beginning June 4 , FRIDAY, the Shop will be open until 9:00 p.m. to accommodate our new QUILT CLUB (see below) and satisfy any of your quilt shopping! We will only be open late the first Friday night of each month.  Cool or what?!
